Q: I am interested in new construction, do I need a REALTORⓇ?
Good question! Yes, I would say that having your own representation as a buyer, regardless of the type of property you purchase, is always a smart choice. Your advocate will help guide you through the whole home buying process before even reaching the question to buy a pre-owned or new home. When you're ready to view homes, you should want to look at both types of homes in order to determine if a pre-owned home or a brand new home is the better choice for you. Brand new homes come at a premium price because your're paying for the ability to customize the home to your wants and needs. But there is a pricing difference between completed new construction (sometimes called a model or a spec home) and a "to-be-built" new home and I would be happy to explain further.
Q: Is the home buying process/timeline the same if I were to buy a new build compared to an existing home?
While there are many similarities, the process is actually quite different. The timeline depends on whether you choose to purchase a completed new construction home or a to-be-built home. Reach out to me and I would be happy to walk you through the process.
